Help & Support

Answers to your frequently asked questions.

General Information

Barry offers vocal and performance coaching, audition preparation, and creative development for music artists at various stages of their careers. Services may include songwriting support, vocal arranging, and vocal direction for live performances and recording projects.

His work also extends to artist strategy and music ministry consulting, as well as group-based experiences such as workshops, intensives, and special collaborative programs. In addition to one-on-one work, Barry is available as a guest artist for events.

Sessions are available online or in-person, depending on the service. Online sessions use video platforms such as Google Meet or Sessionwire, with joining details provided once the session is confirmed. In-person sessions can take place at a client-provided space or a studio arranged by Barry, with scheduling and location confirmed in advance. Barry generally works within NYC, Long Island, and Westchester County, but sessions outside this area can sometimes be arranged upon request.

Sessions are open to singers, artists, worship leaders, and creatives of all experience levels—from beginners to professionals. Participants must be at least 8 years old, and minors need parental or guardian permission and supervision.

Yes. Group sessions, workshops, and intensives are offered periodically or by request. Additional information on upcoming special offers are posted as it becomes available, and updates are shared through his newsletter.

Session rates are designed to be affordable and provide excellent value. While standard rates are already competitive, existing clients may enjoy occasional incentives, loyalty perks, or special offers as a thank-you for their continued support.

Services & How They Work

Both options are available. Some services can be booked as one-time sessions, while others are offered as recurring or multi-session plans. When booking, you’ll be able to see and choose the option that best fits your goals and needs.

Recurring sessions are scheduled on an ongoing basis, usually weekly or bi-monthly, depending on the service. They are not offered in person at locations secured by Barry, but may take place online or in person at client-secured locations.

Multi-session plans are similar, but include a set number of sessions over a specific time period.

Unless otherwise agreed in advance and subject to availability, all sessions are held on a consistent day and time. Scheduling this way helps ensure reliability and continuity. While occasional flexibility can be arranged, keeping a standard schedule is generally the most efficient and dependable approach.

Yes. Session changes—including date, time, format, or location—can be requested in writing and are subject to availability. Any approved changes, including adjustments to logistics or pricing, will be communicated before the change is confirmed.

It is recommended clients focus on one service at a time to ensure consistent progress.

If you want a more integrative experience, you can choose the Artist Strategy Program, which is specifically designed to combine coaching, creative development, and strategy in a coordinated structure.

For Services that offer both formats, sessions are generally held in a single format for scheduling consistency. However, due to the nature of the service, project-based sessions can mix online and in-person meetings as needed, with formats and timing coordinated in advance.

For one-time song reviews or songwriting and arranging coaching sessions, you retain full ownership of your material, and Barry provides feedback only. If Barry contributes creative content during a session, ownership will be shared in proportion to each person’s contribution, with the agreed terms confirmed in writing.

Scheduling & Attendance

All sessions must be requested through the Schedule with Barry form on the Website and are scheduled based on availability. One-time sessions are scheduled individually, recurring sessions follow a set day and time for the duration of the arrangement, and multi-session or project-based services are scheduled in advance according to the plan or project timeline.

A session is confirmed once full payment is received or, if a deposit is required, once the deposit is paid and written confirmation is issued. Some session requests require review before confirmation; in those cases, the session isn’t confirmed until Barry has communicated availability and provided written confirmation.

A session block is a set of sessions planned together to support a specific project. It outlines a general number of sessions and consistent frequency (example, weekly or bi-monthly). Preferred number of sessions and requested dates and times are indicated at the time of booking, while the final schedule is determined after review and mutual agreement.

Barry will make every reasonable effort to schedule sessions on your requested dates, times, and locations. In rare cases where this isn’t possible due to circumstances beyond our control, Barry will notify you promptly and offer alternative options whenever possible. Scheduling is ultimately subject to mutual agreement, and if a suitable arrangement cannot be reached, , deposit payments will be retained to cover the time and effort involved in reviewing and preparing your requested session.

Recurring sessions are based on a set number per month—typically 2 or 4—not the number of weeks in the month. If a month has an extra occurrence of your scheduled day, it does not add an extra session or credit. Sessions continue on the next scheduled date, and additional sessions can be requested separately if needed.

We understand that unexpected delays happen. A 15-minute grace period is generally allowed for each session. If you or the instructor are late, sessions may be adjusted, shortened, rescheduled, or credited to ensure you receive the full value.

Please communicate any anticipated delays as soon as possible. The instructor will also notify you if a delay occurs. This policy reflects our commitment to respecting everyone’s time.

Yes. Sessions can be paused, rescheduled, or canceled, but all changes must be requested in writing and are subject to availability. Any changes that affect timing, logistics, or payment will be communicated and adjusted in advance. Missed sessions due to no-shows or late arrivals are considered canceled. If Barry must cancel a session, reasonable efforts will be made to reschedule or provide a replacement. Frequent or inconsiderate changes may result in declined requests for future changes.

Lessons are personalized and tailored to each student’s unique goals and development, and therefore are non-transferable.

Parents, guardians, or representatives may schedule sessions on behalf of a student or client. Please ensure the person attending the session has all necessary information and permissions.

Payment

We accept credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Amazon Pay, Google Pay, and Link. All fees are listed in U.S. dollars (USD) and are processed securely through the website or official invoices.

Certain Sessions may require a non-refundable deposit to secure scheduling and allocation of resources. Deposits are applied toward the total cost of the Session. The remaining balance is due by the date listed on your invoice. Failure to pay the balance by this date may void the scheduled appointment. For your reference, estimated Service or Session prices will be displayed at the time of booking to help guide your planning.

Some sessions can’t have a final price listed right away because details like format, prep time, location, or travel may affect the cost. In those cases, we provide an estimated price or price range to give you an idea of what to expect. The final price will always be shared before or at the time of invoicing.

Payment options depend on the type of service. One-time sessions require full payment at booking, while recurring sessions are billed monthly. Some fixed-term programs and project-based services may allow installment or milestone-based payments, with specific terms provided at the time of scheduling.

All fees paid for Services or Sessions, including deposits, prepaid fees, fixed-term programs, and project-based Services, are non-refundable unless otherwise expressly stated in writing.

Preparation & Session Tips

Just show up ready to learn!

  • Be open-minded, relaxed, and hydrated.
  • Get plenty of rest and avoid irritants like dairy, caffeine, or alcohol right before singing.
  • Wear comfortable clothing and bring a recording device if you’d like to review what you’ve learned afterward.
  • For online sessions, ensure your device is fully charged, your internet connection is stable, and you have a quiet, comfortable space to work.

Each session is tailored to your goals, skill level, and learning style. You can expect a mix of instruction, guided practice, and personalized feedback. Sessions are interactive, so you’ll have opportunities to ask questions and try out exercises in real time.

Sessions may be recorded for internal use to help track progress and guide future lessons. You are welcome to bring a recording device if you’d like to review the session afterward.

Gentle vocal and body warm-ups can help you get the most out of your session. Barry will guide you through specific exercises as needed, so don’t worry about extensive preparation beforehand.

To protect your voice and get the most out of your session, avoid activities or substances that can cause irritation or strain. This includes:

  • Excessive shouting, singing, or vocal strain
  • Smoking or exposure to smoky or harsh environments
  • Dairy products, caffeine, or alcohol immediately before singing
  • Very spicy or acidic foods that may cause throat irritation
  • Staying hydrated, well-rested, and being in a comfortable environment will help you perform at your best.

Regular practice is important for progress. For most coaching sessions, practicing 15–30 minutes per day between sessions is recommended, but this can vary depending on your goals and the session type.
